In the Supreme Court the discussion was held on the draft law of jury trial by the participation of international expert, Nikolai Kovalyov

On October 13, 2015 at the Supreme Court the meeting on jury trial reform was held by the participation of international expert - Nikolai Kavalyov and the judges, assistants, secretaries of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Geogria, employees of the analytical department of the Supreme Court. The aim of the meeting was to promote the preparation of expert opinion on jury system reform by the international expert.

In the framework of the meeting Nikolai Kovalyov introduced his vision of the jury system reform to the presented audience and paid particular attention to the following issues: Jurors subject matter jurisdiction; the issues of professional incompatibility in the context of jury choosing process; ensure of Jurors safety and objectivity; form of  jurors verdict.

The meeting was conducted in the active dialogue and exchange of views format, where deficiencies identified during the jury trial practice, its causes and solutions were discussed.
