The working group held meeting concerning the appointment and promotion of judges

On December 9, 2014, at “Marriot Tbilisi” Hotel, was held the working group meeting in terms of the criteria and procedures for the appointment and promotion of judges. The Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Konstantine Kublashvili, with the first Deputy Chairman and  simultaneously the Chairman of Georgian Judges Association, Zaza Meishvili, opened the meeting.

The working group members discussed the positions of international organizations including OSCE and The Venice Commision, regarding abovemantioned issue. They also discussed European Countries’ existing practice in respect of the criteria and procedures for the appointment and promotion of judges.

The meeting was attended by the members of High Council of Justice and the Representatives of International Organizations.
