THE SESSION OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE COMMITTEE WAS HELD AT THE SUPREME COURT OF GEORGIA

On May 14, 2013 the Session of the Administrative Committee of the Judicial Conference was held at the Supreme Court of Georgia.

The members of the Administrative Committee discussed the topics to be prepared for the Judicial Conference, namely, the Conference agenda and the form of ballot paper.

The Session of the Administrative Committee is open to the public and all interested persons are able to attend it. The representatives of the international and non-governmental organizations are invited to attend the session.

After the session was over the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia met the media representatives and informed about the topics discussed during the session.

Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili stated: The Judicial Conference on which the members of the High Council of Justice, the members of the Disciplinary Committee and the Chairman of the High School of Justice must be elected, is expected to be held on May 26, 2013. First of all, we discussed the form of the ballot paper, which was approved by the Committee, also submitted to everyone the list of acting judges, who is entitled to participate in the conference and in the vote process. We also discussed the draft agenda of the Judicial Conference. I am saying that it is a draft project because, the amendments in “the Organic Law on Common Courts of Georgia” have not yet been entered into force. After enactment and entry into force of the Law, the Administrative Committee will approve the agenda, which will include all the issues. At the session we discussed the date, when it is possible to appoint the Judicial Conference, but didn’t make a final decision on it because the amendments in “the Organic Law of Common Court” has not yet entered into force". 

The representatives of several NGOs attended the meeting.
