A TRAINING SESSION ON COMPETITION LAW

With financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway  and organized by  Transparency International – Georgia “, a training session was held on competition law for the assistants to judges of the Supreme Court of Georgia,  at hotel "Tbilisi Marriott “ . The training course was conducted by Dr. Filip Tuytschaever.

Among the topics presented, particular interest was followed  by the following issues:  horizontal agreements between competitors, prohibited horizontal agreements (cartels), horizontal cooperation agreements (self-assessment), vertical agreements between sellers and buyers, strict restrictions (price agreements, customer and territorial restrictions, liabilities, non-competitive), distribution formulas, electronic agencies, dominant position, abuse (exclusives and exploited), competition law sanctions for the violation, the execution of public and private enforcement, and the burden of proof standard for competition law cases.
