CCJE Opinions at Radisson Blue Iveria Hotel

Within the  framework of the  “Support to the Judicial Reform Project” the presentation of the opinions  of  Consultative Council of European Judges (CCJE), was held at Radisson Blue Iveria Hotel.The participants were adressed  by the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia, Mr. Cristian Urse and Chairperson of the Supreme Court Of Georgia and HCoJ,  Nino Gventadze

The event was attended by the President of the Consultative Council of European Judges(CCJE), President of the Supreme Court of Croatia, Duro Sessa , who presented a report on the review of  work and opinions  of the Consultative Council of European Judges.

The Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia spoke about the use of opinions of the Council of Europe Judges in Georgia and  thanked CoE for their ongoing support, especially withing the project EU4Justice, effectively providing support in implementation of the Judicial Strategy (2017-2021) in many directions.

In her speech, Nino Gvenetadze pointed out to efficient implementation of the procedures defined by the Judicial Strategy (2017-2021) within the opinions and recomendation  of CCJE. A member of the High Council of Justice, Dimitri Gvritishvili also touched the same issues in his adress to the participants.

Nino Gvenetadze hosted the President of the Consultative Council of European Judges(CCJE), President of the Supreme Court of Croatia Duro Sessa at the Palace of Justice . The meeting was also attended by the Judge of the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of Georgia and Georgian representative in the Working Group of The European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice  (CEPEJ), Nino Bakakuri.

The parties discussed the role of the Supreme Court in the judiciary and the recomendations of the Consultative Council of European Judges(CCJE) on  selection, appointment and promotion of judges.

The President of the Supreme Court of Croatia, Duro Sessa shared Croatian experience to Georgian  colleagues about  judges selection, appointment and promotion procedures.
