A working meeting on juvenile justice

A working meeting on implementation of  the Juvenile Justice Code was held at the Supreme Court today , chaired by the Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia and  the Chairperson  of the High Council of Justice, Nino Gvenetadze.

The meeting was attended by the head of diversion and mediation division of crime prevention center of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia Mr. Lado Javakhishvili, Judge of the Criminal Case Panel  of Tbilisi City Court and Judge of  Juvenile cases  Ms.Eka Areshidze and the head of EU Judiciary Support Project-Justice Renate Winter .

The legislative basis of the initiation of mediation in the cases of juvenile offenders and organizational issues, acts regulating mediation procedures in juvenile justice cases, mediation procedures and trainings  issues were discussed  at the  meeting

Several  more meetings will be held in the nearest future for the implementation of Juvenile Justice Code of Georgia.
