THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE SUPREME COURT OF GEORGIA AND HIGH COUNCIL OF JUSTICE HOSTED THE DIRECTOR/CHIEF COUNISEL OF CALIFORNIA COMMISSION ON JUDICIAL PERFORMANCE

On November 8, 2016 Victoria Henley – Director/Chief Councel of Califonia Commission on Judicial Performance of  USA being on visit in Georgian paid a visit to the Supreme Court as well. The working meeting was presided by the Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia and High Council of Justice – Nino Gvenetadze.

Within the frames of the working meeting was discussed the Law of Georgia on “Disciplinary Liability and Disciplinary Proceedings of judges of the General Courts” and basic principles of disciplinary responsibilities of judges. The parties shared best practices and approaches concerning disciplinary proceedings.

Head of the Reforms in justice legislation and policy of the project of “Promoting the Rule of Law” (EWMI/PROLoG) – Inga Todria, the head of the program – Georgi Chkheidze and members of the High Council of Justice attended the meeting.

The similar format meeting concerning the issues of disciplinary proceedings was held at the High Council of Justice with the staff of the Department of Judicial Ethics.
