The award ceremony on Human Rights Activist of 2015 was held at Supreme Court of Georgia

On December 11, 2015 at the Supreme Court of Georgia Universities Human Rights week’s summarizing event was held. The aim of the event was to implement the broad public discussions on Human rights problematic issues among students and youth, through cooperation of participating universities for active exchange of ideas and opinions on Human Rights Law.

The Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia and the High Council of Justice opened the event and greeted the participants. Nino Gvenetadze stated that similar types of projects have a significant role in terms of strengthening of human dignity, freedom and equality before the law in the Georgian society. The Supreme Court expresses the readiness to continue active participation in judiciary related projects.

On the event the six organizer universities:  Tbilisi Free University; Ilia State University; Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University; The University of Georgia; The Georgian Institute of Public Affairs; Georgian-American University, jointly identified in the nomination: “Human rights activist of 2015” – “Women’s movement”.

Human Rights Universities Week was held on December 7-11 that was supported by the East-West Management Institute, "Promoting the rule of law in Georgia" program (EWMI-PROLoG), the UN Human Rights High Commissioners Office in the South Caucasus and Tbilisi Union of Media Library.
