On February 5, 2013, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili welcomed the representatives of the diplomatic corps and international missions accredited in Georgia.
Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili introduced to the invited guests the package of legislative amendments initiated by the Judiciary, which will further strengthen judicial independence and stability.
The Chairman of the Supreme Court informed the diplomatic corps about the project, which is intended by the Judiciary in order to increase the transparency and accessibility of information even more.
In this regard, in the first half of 2013 it is planned to integrate of the Supreme Court and appellate courts into the electronic records management program, which is already functioning. The program provides opportunities for both the judge and the parties and ordinary citizens to keep close watch on current cases at any stage.
Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili also talked about a new initiative - the creation of a group of collaboration.
The Group has to ensure direct involvement of society members into the Judiciary reform process. The groups activities will be focused on increasing the quality and validity of court decisions.
Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili answered the questions of the diplomatic corps representatives.
After the closing of the meeting the invited guests visited the "Museum of justice".
