A working meeting on “Application of the Protocol No. 16 to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights”, ,, Effective analytical work and legal research on standards of European convention and «European Court of Human Rights Case-Law “ was held at the Supreme Court of Georgia.
The meeting attended by the judges and assistants of the Civil and Administrative Cases Chambers of the Supreme Court , Judges of the Common Courts, Court of Appeal, as well as the staff of the Analytical Department, was addressed by the Chairperson of the Supreme Court and HCoJ Nino Gvenetadze ,judge of the Criminal Chamber Giorgi Shavliashvili and a senior project officer, Giorgi Giorgazde.
The legal consultant of the Council of Europe and main speaker Nino Khaindrava summarized the principles of European Court of Human Rights Case-Law and European Court of Human Rights.
The head of analytical department Maka Kvachadze spoke about introduction of the standards of European Court into the National Court practice, analytical center activities, about the preparation works on purpose of establishing the Human Rights Coordination Mechanism in the regions and the activities of the Human Rights Center of the Supreme Court.
The meeting was held within the CoE and EU joint project “Strengthening the Application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Georgia”.
