22-24 May, Within the framework of the CoE project " “Support to the Judicial Reform in Georgia”, the delegation of the judges of the Supreme Court of Georgia and participants of the "Winter School “are to visit Strasbourg in order to hold the meetings with the representatives of structures of the Council of Europe and also at the European Court of Human Rights.
The delegation included The Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia, chairperson of the chamber of civil cases ,Ms. Mzia Todua ; the Judges of the Civil Cases Chambe Ms. Ekaterine Gasitashvili and Mr. Zurab Dzlierishvili; Representatives of the Analytical Department of Tbilisi City Court and Legal Support Department of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Head of the Analytical Department of the Supreme Court, also, the heads of the Communications and Coordination direction and the representatives of the EU4Justice program , will meet with the representatives of the Council of Europe structures and the European Court of Human Rights.
Members of the delegation will be hosted by the Head of the Legal Cooperation Division from the directorate of Human Rights and supremacy of law, Simon Tolen; Head of 1 sector of Justice Reform, Legal Cooperation Unit (DGI ); the representative of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission ) Zia Taniari , Representatives of the Human Rights Policy and Cooperation Department.
Meetings are also planned with the Group of the Experts for Women Violence and Domestic Violence, Group of States against Corruption, Executive Director of the Court Decision Enforcement Department.
Members of the Supreme Court delegation will attend the hearings of the European Court of Human Rights Georgia v. Russia
The delegation will return to Tbilisi on May 28.
