On 2 March 2018, within the Administrative Law division of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Supreme Court of Georgia, a meeting was held for common courts judicial assistants upon issues of personal data protection. The meeting was supervised by Mr. Nugzar Skhirtladze, judge of the Chamber of Administrative Cases of the Supreme Court of Georgia and Mrs. Thea Dzimistarashvili, judge of the Chamber of Administrative Cases of Tbilisi Court of Appeals. They discussed issues of the personal data protection in terms of both national and international court practice.
Mr.Skhirtladze talked about origins of the data protection, its concept and spheres of protection, international conventions and guidelines of European Council that regulate the named aspects. Mrs. Dzimistarashvili reported about court decisions of the Supreme Court of Georgia and European Court of Human Rights.
The meeting was attended by the staff of the Secretariat of the Administrative Cases Chamber of the Supreme Court of Georgia, assistants to judges from Tbilisi Court of Appeals , Tbilisi City Court and District courts working on administrative cases. The meeting was concluded by discussions and future prospects.
