On 17-18 September of 2016 at the Hotel Ambassador Kachreti about 80 judges of the administrative cases panel of regional, municipal and appeal courts discussed election issues with the representatives of Election Administration (EA) and international experts.
Nino Gvenetadze, Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Goergia, Tamar Zhvania, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia and Nermin Nisic, Chief of Party of International Foundation of Electoral Systems (IFES) made opening remarks at two day workshop.
Election disputes, use of administrative resources in election processes, amendments of election legislation were the topics discussed by the workshop participants together with the officials of the CEC legal department, judges and representatives of IFES.
European standards of electoral disputes resolution, also prevention of misuse of administrative resources in election process and international standards of relevant response was introduced to the workshop participants by Sergei Kalchenko, Venice Commission Expert.
Two day training is organized by the CEC together with the Supreme Court of Georgia, in cooperation and co-finance with the IFES and Venice Commission of Council of Europe.
