On December 15, 2011 Konstantin Kublashvili, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia, met the representatives of active international and non-governmental organizations.
The meeting aimed to introduce the current court reform, independence of the judiciary, institutional and legislative amendments undertaken within the last period.
During 2011, meetings with the same thematic were permanently held at the High Council of Justice of Georgia.
The following topics were considered on the meeting – the new criteria for the selection of judges, amendments regarding the rule for the appointment of a judge, dissemination of information regarding the outcomes of the disciplinary proceedings, ban of political activities and political associations for the members of the High Council of Justice appointed by the President of Georgia and etc.
On December 15, participants of the meeting considered those suggestions and recommendations with the Chairman of the Supreme Court, who is the Chairman of the High Council of Justice at the same time, which were set on the analogous meetings of the current year.
The meetings will be conducted within 2012 with international and non-governmental organizations, other representatives of mass-media and civil societies, working in this sphere.
