On June 7 of 2016 the round table on the current issues of Civil Law was held at the Supreme Court of Republic of Georgia with the participation of the delegation of the High District Court of Dresden and Georgian judges and lawyers.
The Chairperson of the Supreme Court Ms. Nino Gvenetadze greeted the audience and emphasized the importance of cooperation of the parties. She also talked about the planning of the future arrangements for strengthening of the work of the qualification chamber. The Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Court - Mzia Todua, judges - Zurab Dzlierishvili, Beso Alavidze, Paata Katamadze, Chairman of the High District Court of Dresden - Mr. Ulrich Hagelloch, Sabine Schonknecht and other judges - members of the delegation also greeted the participants of the meeting and talked about the court practice.
Within the frames of the working meeting the participants delivered reports giving the relevant examples of the Georgian and German legislation and court practice and discussed the following current complex issues of the civil law: Bank Guarantee, warranty, the remedy for default under a contract for work, acceptance of a defective thing and limitation period. After each report, the participants were able to voice their positions and opinions in the format of the discussion.
The working meeting in the format of the round table will be closed tomorrow on June 8 of the current year by summarizing discussion on the structure and criteria of court decisions.
