On the first of February of current year, under the framework of official visit, the Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia and the High Council of Justice will meet with the representatives of scientific circles.
Max Planck Institute of Freiburg represents the scientific-research institute of Foreign and International Criminal Law, where major studies are conducted in Criminal law and Criminology. History of creation of the Institute is connected to the seminar implemented by Professor Adolf Shonke, in 1938, in the University of Albert-Ludwig. The topic of the seminar was: "The criminal law of international and foreign countries." This event has become the basis of the establishment of the institute of the Criminal Law of international and foreign countries in 1947. Later, in 1966, after merging the Institute with “Max Planck society”, the name was changed and today it is called Freiburg Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law.
