The oath giving ceremony was held in the Supreme Court

On January 4, 2016 at the Supreme Court the oath giving ceremony of judges was held.  The Eight new judges gave the oath before the chairperson and the members of the High Council of Justice.

The newly assigned judges were appointed according to the decision of December 25, 2015 of the High Council of Justice. Within the Common Courts system in appellate, district and city courts 38 judges were appointed from 61 vacant seats; 8 listeners were appointed from High School of Justice, 6 acting judges and 24 former judges.

The Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia addressed to the newly assigned judges: "I wish to the appointed judges professional success in order to raise the prestige and authority of independent judiciary and to return the public confidence,” – stated Nino Gvenetadze.

The newly appointed judges will start the implementation of the judicial authority from January 4, 2016.
