The working meeting is underway between German and Georgian judges on current issues of civil law

On November 10, 2015 in the Supreme Court of Georgia the workshop is in progress by participation of Dresden Higher Regional Court judges - Mr. Ulrich Hagenlokh, Mrs. Gezine Tevsis and Mrs. Sabine Shloshan on the current issues of civil law.

The participants were welcomed by the Deputy Chair of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Chairperson of the Chamber of Civil Cases – Mrs. Mzia Todua and the latter expressed gratitude towards the foreign colleagues for active and fruitful cooperation.

The aim of the meeting is sharing of experiences in the field of civil law by envisaging the countries’ best practices.

In the framework of the meeting the German and Georgian judges will present their reports on the key issues of civil law:  Rescind and limitation deadlines in respect of coercion transactions; Counterclaim suit and qualified counterclaim; The scope of justification of inadmissibility of cassation appeal; The volume of responsibilities of companies directors and partners in private-law and tax liabilities.

The meeting, together with the judges of Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court, is attending the judges of the Civil Collegiums of Tbilisi City Court and Civil Chamber of the Tbilisi Appellate Court, notaries, lawyers, as well as the representatives of academic community and the supporter of the meeting -  the international organization - the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The working meeting will be finished at the end of the day with sum-up discussion.
