In the courts of first instances the reminder program for the two-month period of detention review during the substantive hearing is launched.

With the initiative of the Supreme Court was worked out the program providing the judges of criminal cases with the possibility of displaying messages of reminders to such  defendants whose detention is used as a preventive measure and the issue of the two month period of imprisonment review expires. The program was introduced at the Georgian Courts of First Instances.  Creation of the said program became necessary  as a result of amendments made on July 8 of current year in  Prima Article 230 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Georgia.

At the initial stage the program was introduced at Tbilisi and Batumi City courts, also in Khelvachauri District Court and then consistently the program will be implemented at all courts of first instances. In order to run the mentioned program comprehensively and properly the appropriate trainings were conducted by the employees of the Supreme Court for the assistants of judges. Presentation of the program and the last training session was held on 22 and 23 October in Kutaisi and Batumi City Courts.
