The Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia met with Deputy Chairman of the European Court of Human Rights

The Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia Nino Gvenetadze is attending the conference of chairpersons of European constitutional courts, on September 10, 2015 in Batumi. The topic of the conference is “to use international agreements by constitutional courts and relevant institutions: challenges for dialogue."
The conference is attended by delegations from 40 countries. Among them the Deputy Chairman of the European Court of Human Rights Guido Raimondi, Chairmen of European Constitutional Courts, the Vice-Presidents of Venice Commission and members. The president of Georgia, the members of parliament and government are participating the working process of the conference.
During the Conference, in the format of working session the Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia had a face to face meeting with the deputy chair of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg Guido Raymond. The Chairman of the Supreme Court spoke about the major challenges that she faces as the Chairperson the Supreme Court and High Council of Justice. Nino Gvenetadze informed the guests about the important changes planned in the framework of the third phase reform of judiciary. Among them Nino Gvenetadze paid special attention about the validity of a high standard of court decisions, usage of case law obligation and coming out from the EU association agreement the implementation of commitments undertaken by judiciary of Georgia.
International Conference is carrying out under the framework of the EU project "Support to the Constitutional Court".
