The Chairperson of Supreme Court has met the Legal Adviser of United States Department of Justice

9th July of 2015 year, Nino Gvenetadze – the Chairperson of the Supreme Court has met to Michael Grant – the legal adviser of United States Department of Justice and Nicholas Berliner – the Deputy Chief of Mission Nikolas Berlinel. Michael Grant has substituted Jared Kimball. The Chairperson of Supreme court has delivered detailed information about the events planned within the third stage reform of judiciary, including the amendments that are related on increasing responsibilities of Courts and efficient functioning of Judiciary.
Nino Gvenetadze emphasized her opinion about proceedings and random distribution of cases on electronic systems, whose successful implementation will increase transparency and consequently public confident towards judiciary.
The Chairperson of Supreme Court also discussed the role of the High Council of Justice and the planned measures for increasing ones role. ”It is important to improve the standards of the High Council of Justice, that will serve to overcome the problems revealed during probationary period of Judges and also will help the introduction of effective mechanism when enrolling the listeners in The High School of Justice.” – stated Nino Gvenetadze.
On the meeting, held in an hour format, The Chairperson of Supreme Court informed guests about beginning of construction of Tbilisi City Court new building, increase the number of Judges from 2016, and also about the commence of the new search system, which will assist the judges and other concerned persons in finding important substantial information about clarifications from National and International Courts.
The legal adviser of United States Department of Justice expressed gratification towards the planned activities and offered active support to the Chairperson of the Supreme Court within the implementation of program.
