Workshop on Comments of Criminal Procedural Code

On 10th of July, 2015 at the Supreme Court the working meeting was held where the judges, prosecutors and attorneys are participated. The working group members discussed the issues regarding the comments of Criminal procedural code. The meeting was opened by the welcome speech of the Chairperson of Supreme Court of Georgia: “I am glad that the working group unites practical and theoretical lawyers that will become the bases of successful implementation of the project. It carries also paramount importance to discuss the issue in the frame of Constitutional Court that finely will impact on the courts decisions”, stated Nino Gvenetatze.
In the format of the meeting the discussion was held regarding the adversarial proceedings and equality of arms principle in accordance of Criminal Procedure Code and on inadmissible evidences.
In the framework of the mentioned project the comments on Criminal Procedural Code will be elaborated. The project is implemented by the American Bar Association/Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) through support and funds provided by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the United States Department of State (INL).
