President of Georgia introduced the new Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia

On March 23, 2015, President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili officially introduced the new Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Nino Gvenetadze, to the judges, members of the High Council of Justice, foreign Diplomats and the representatives of international  and local organizations in the building of the Supreme Court.

President of Georgia emphasized significant role and importance of judiciary in the development of democratic state at the introduction ceremony of new Chairperson of the Supreme Court. "I believe that today, we take a strong step for establishment of fair judiciary in Georgia. The only interest, which is presented in the judiciary, is law and justice and I believe that today we take a very strong step in Georgian History of Judiciary with the purpose, that it will serve the main value – a human being, his/her interests. It should be the main guarantor of his/her live, existence and the sense of fairness in this state" – Giorgi Margvelashvili stated.

The new Chairperson of the Supreme Court addressed the president of Georgia, colleagues and invited guests. As Nino Gvenetadze mentioned, The State has real chance to get really independent and impartial justice and we should use this chance.  All of you should feel yourselves independent, so that statements of authorities or erroneously formulated public opinion could not have influence on judgments of the Court. Enhancing the independence of the judiciary and increasing public trust is the main purpose for which we have to think with mutual effort. I went through a period of judicial activity and also, went through a lot of battles, which brought me back to you. I will try to justify the peoples trust and expectations of the community to establish the truth and justice , The Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Nino Gvetenadze, said at the introduction ceremony.

Academic, Otar Gamkrelidze, addressed the guests: “I am happy that the Chairperson of the Supreme Court was elected with public involvement and the fact that the introduction of the new chairperson of the Supreme Court is attended by the former Chairman, is another proof of the institutional development and sustainability”.

The introduction ceremony of Nino Gvenetadze at the Supreme Court was attended by the former Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Konstantine Kublashvili. The president of Georgia stated that by this gesture the stability of the judiciary  was repeatedly underlined. Konstantine Kublashvili congratulated the new Chairperson and wished her success in her new,  very responsible activities.
