The Supreme Court of Georgia Celebrates the Birthday of Ilia Chavchavadze

On November 7, 2014, the whole staff of the Supreme Court of Georgia celebrates the 177th anniversary of Great Georgian Writer and Public Figure Ilia Chavchavadze and the different events will be held.

Ilia Chavchavadze has left an unforgettable mark not only in literature, but His contribution is extraordinary to the development of the Judiciary in Georgia. During 1864-1873, He worked as a judge in Dusheti District. At the Museum of justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia there are several documents and case files presented of the period when Ilia Chavchavadze worked as a judge.

Within the frame of the anniversary events for the staff members of the Supreme Court there will be held the show of the new film - Who Killed Ilia.

The film was prepared by the Central Archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Besides, the staff members of the Supreme Court will visit the museums of Ilia Chavchavadze that are situated on Chubinashvili and Javakhishvili Streets and then will pay the special tribute to the writers grave at the Mtatsminda Pantheon.
