10 Years Anniversary of “Law and Justice”

On October 2, 2014 - 10 Years Anniversary of “Law and Justice” was celebrated at the Supreme Court of Georgia. The ceremony was attended by academics, lawyers, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations. The event was also attended by the judges from Ukrainian courts.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court Mr. Konstantine Kublashvili welcomed the invited guests and congratulated the anniversary. “The magazine “Law and Justice” is well known in legal circles, where many lawyers would be happy to publish their work, the critical letters, as well as case law materials and about legislation. We think that such works are welcomed and the main purpose of the magazine is precisely the development of legal thinking”, - said the Chairman.

The guests were also welcomed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court, the Chairman of Judges Association Mr. Zaza Meishvili, who talked about the history of 10-year development of the magazine. He also thanked the creative team of the magazine. The welcoming speech also gave Professor Johnny Khetsuriani, the University professor Guram Nachkebia and the executive director of the American Bar Association Mr. Mamuka Mamatsashvili. The magazine of Georgian Judges Association “Law and Justice” has been published since 2004. It should be noted that at that time there was lack of legal periodicals in our country. The aim the magazine was to create a printing scientific tribune for Georgian Judges, as well as publishing of legislative or other news. The magazine is dedicated for judges, as well as for legal professionals, law scientists and  the university professors.

The magazine has all the international regalia, in particular, is involved in the international network of world libraries, and has received the international codification, classification number and bar code.

The magazine is delivered to the Legal Committee of the Parliament, Tbilisi State University, and the National Library, non-governmental and international organizations working on different legal matters. The electronic version of the magazine will be placed on the website of the Supreme Court and various electronic libraries.
