The Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia Met the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

On May 19, 2014, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili met the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay.

The meeting was also attended by the Chief of the Americas, Europe and Central Asia Branch in the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Gianni Magazzeni, the Spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mr. Rupert Colville, the Senior Human rights Advisor for the South Caucasus of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Mr. Vladimir Shkolnikov and the National Program Officer for Georgia Mr. Bessarion Bokhashvili.

The issues discussed during the meeting concerned the current situation of the judiciary, the latest challenges and the results of the reform.

The visit to Georgia of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights will last until May 22, 2014.
