Working Meeting with Judges on Election Disputes

On May 17, 2014, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Ms. Tamar Zhvania held the working meeting for Judges in Kobuleti.

The meeting was initiated by the Supreme Court of Georgia and the High School of Justice and dedicated to the election issues. The judges were welcomed by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili and the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Ms. Tamar Zhvania.

Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili noted that such cooperation with the CEC is useful for the judges as well as for the election administration. Analyzing the issues of the working meeting will facilitate the establishment of the uniform court practice on the election disputes in future.

The Supreme Court Judges Mr. Nugzar Skhirtladze and Mrs. Maia Vachadze, the Judge of Tbilisi Appeal Court Mrs. Nino Kadagidze, The Head of Legal Department of CEC Mr. Archil Anasashvili and the Head of Legal Maintenance Division Mr. George Kalandarishvili were the invited experts. About 70 judges from the Common Courts were participated in the working meeting.

The meeting lasted for two days and was organized by the financial support of United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
