“House of Justice” Was Opened on Judge Day

On May 15, 2014, the Events dedicated to Judge Day began by the opening ceremony of the  “House of Justice”. The ceremony was opened by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili and the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Turkey Mr. Ali Alkan.

The opening ceremony of “House of Justice” was attended by the judges of all the three instances, representatives of Georgian and foreign non-governmental and international organizations acting in Georgia, diplomatic corps.

The “House of Justice” is the inovative project implemented within the framework of Judiciary reform, which brings together in one space, both educational and mediation services.  The “House of Justice” is a well-furnished and equipped with modern technology, and one of the largest training center in the South Caucasus, where events can be held on a regional scale.

The Chairman of the Supreme Court guided the guests in the “House of Justice” and provided them with the detailed information on all the services.

After the guests swa the “House of Justice”, they gethered in the conference hall. The Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia welcomed the judges and the invited guests. Mr. Konstanton Kublashvili congratulated the Judges their professional Judge Day and talked about importance of their activity. The Chairman of the Supreme Court of Turkey Mr. Ali Alkan also cingratulated judges the Judge Day and talked about impotance of the frienship and business relations between the two countries. Mr. Ali Alkan also thanked georgian colleagues for their hospitality.

At the end of the ceremony the judges were awarded. The Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia awarded with the memorable presents 7 judges for their high professionalism, integrity and principled grounds. Mr. Kublashvili also emphasized the importance of the activity of Tbilisi City Court judges considering the large scale of cases  and their professionalism and the Chairman of Tbilisi City Court was awarded with memorable gift.

In the entrance foyer of the “House of Justice” the exhibition on “A judge in ancient Georgia” was held, which was prepared according to the sources of Georgian Historical Legal Monuments.

In the conference hall of “House of Justice” was held the presentation for the judges about the court statistics of 2013-2014 and the new programmes added on the Supreme Court webpage, which include the catalog of international acts and the search programme of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.
