The Visit of the Chairman of the Supreme Court to the International Conference

On April 6-8, 2013, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili and the Judge of Tbilisi Appeal Court Mr. Irakli Shengelia participate at the International Conference on “The Long-Term Future of the European Court of Human Rights”, held in Oslo, Norway. 

The conference is held under the auspices of the Council of Europe and various issues will be discussed on it. The conference will focus on strengthening cooperation between the countries and set the future plans for the activities in the field of human rights.

During the Conference there will be assessed the challenges and the opportunities in the on-going reform process of the European Court of Human Rights. Local and international experts will also assess the activities of the European Court of Human Rights.

According to the agenda the conference will be held within the framework of the dialogue between the representatives of the national courts and the European Court of Human Rights. The Conference participants will discuss accountability and authority of the European Court of Human Rights, as well as the importance of judgments/decisions enforcement process by national courts.

The judges, the representatives of academic fields, governmental and non-governmental organizations and experts will attend the Conference.
