Penalty was decreased for 24 years

According to the judgment of May 25, 2011 of Kutaisi Court of Appeal, the penalty for fraud was decreased from 30 to 6 years for the convicted Z.R. The base for the above mentioned judgment was procedural agreement between the lawyer of the convicted and prosecutor, according to which the verdict of guilty was pronounced. Pursuant to the case materials, “Georgian Union Distribution Energy Company’s” Lanchkhuti Service Center’s technician-electrician Z.R. appropriated amount from the population, which was envisaged for cover of the arrears for electricity. The Court of Appeal studied the case materials and according to the Article 55 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Georgia charged the convicted Z.R. with small penalty, with deprivation of liberty for 6 years.
