The Supreme Court of Georgia Released Convicted Person from the Courtroom

On February 12, 2014, the Chamber of Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court of Georgia delivered a judgment according to which the convicted A.Kh. was released from the courtroom.

By the judgment of Zugdidi District Court, delivered on March 27, 2013, A.Kh. was found guilty in committing the crime (attempted murder) according to the Articles 19 and 108 of CCG and as a result was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment.

The above judgment was upheld by Kutaisi Appeal Court.

The Chamber of Criminal Cases of the Supreme Court ruled that convicted A.Kh. did not commit attempted murder, but inflicted serious health injuries while exceeding the limits of necessary defense, the crime under the Article 122 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and the Court reduced the sentence until 1 year.

The convicted A.Kh. was released from the courtroom .
