The Ceremony of Students Award in the Supreme Court of Georgia

On December 18, 2012 the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili and the Ambassador of the United States to Georgia Mr. Richard Norland awarded the winners of the national moot court competition in advocacy of criminal law.
The Students from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Caucasus School of Law (TSU), Georgian-American University (GAU), International Black Sea University, Georgian University, Free University of Tbilisi, Shota Rustaveli State University (Batumi) and Akaki Tsereteli State University (Kutaisi) participated in the moot court.
Only two teams gained the final competition - Akaki Tsereteli State University team and Free University team. Also, the winners in nominations of the best lawyer and the best witness were nominated. The Chairman of the Supreme Court awarded the winner in nomination of the best lawyer with the memorable gift.
The Moot Trial is supported by the government of the USA. The goal of the project is to support judicial independence and the strengthening of capacity of law professional associations.
