Discussion on Judicial Issues

On December 11, 2013, Georgian Judges Association organized the discussion on "Georgian judicial system - current challenges, future plans." The event was held at the hotel "Tbilisi Marriott".

The meeting was attended by the members of Georgian Judges Association, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia, the members of the High Council of Justice, the official from the Ministry of Justice and the members of parliament, local NGOs and international organizations working in Georgia.

According to the Chairman of the Supreme Court, the court in most cases agrees with the draft law presented by the Ministry of Justice, however, have some critical comments as well, in particular, concerning the composition of the High Council of Justice and termination of the term of office for members of the High Council of Justice.

The members of Georgian Judges Association together with the invited guests discussed current problems in the judicial system and evaluated the draft law submitted by the Ministry of Justice.
