Press Conference in the Supreme Court of Georgia

On November 29, 2012 Press Conference was held in the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Chairman, Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili answered the questions of media representatives. Initially Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili introduced the basic data of Georgian common courts activities. The Chairman of the Supreme Court also talked about the priorities for 2013.
Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili declared that the basic priorities of the court system for 2013 are to put in action the mechanisms for the life time appointment of judges and introduction of the electronic case management system.
"For the current year, recording of the cases in electronic format will begin at the first instance courts across the country and the parties will be able to receive the records of trial on electronic CD immediately after completion of proceedings. From March 2013, it will be available to lodge the case before the court in the electronic format. The lawyers and the public agencies will be able to send appeals or the statements in electronic format. And the Prosecutors Office will be also involved in this program. "- Said the head of the Supreme Court.
Mr. Konstantin Kublashvili also answered the media questions, which were about the new draft laws initiated by the Ministry of Justice, about the video recording during the case proceedings and about the draft law on amnesty.
