A Working Meeting on European and National Court Practice

On November 30, 2018 a working meeting was held at the Supreme Court of Georgia supported by COE representative. The meeting, dedicated to the issues of European and National court practice, was led by a judge of Criminal Cases Chamber of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Giorgi Shavliashvili.
The main speaker was Giorgi Badashvili, a lawyer at European Court of Human Rights, talking about: “Standards of Competitive Law Enforcement in Criminal Law, General Overview of Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights”. He touched upon standards of the European Court and their significance.
Sandro Jorbenadze, head of Generalization and National Court Practice unit of the Supreme Court of Georgia, spoke about procedures for witness interrogation and national legislation and case law.
Other presenters were Irakli Grdzelidze, representative of the Generalization and National Court Practice unit, talking about Case Law and Legislation on Drug Related Crimes. Marina Kvachadze, head of Analytical unit of the Supreme Court of Georgia, talked about court practice and legislation of criminal law on cases related to domestic violence”.
