Court Managers’ Forum in Kachreti

The forum for court managers, supported by the Council of Europe project “Support to the Judicial Reform in Georgia” and High Council of Justice was held in “Ambassador Kachreti” on September 23-24, 2018. The forum gathered all 29 court managers and other relevant judicial staff from courts of Georgia, including the Supreme Court of Georgia, Tbilisi City Court and Tbilisi Court of Appeals. The forum was aimed at familiarizing managers with established national and international best practices on effective and quality court management, also establishing a strong network of managers and ensuring needs-based capacity building activities. The speakers of the forum, Ucha Todua and Shorena Gigauri, local experts of European Council, Anna Skrabina, international expert from Latvia, presented reports on general management principles, interesting examples from the judiciary, application of CEPEJ and Latvia Courts guidelines for promotion, motivation, achievements and challenges of the staff.
The forum established a platform where participants shared experiences, best practices and challenges on court management-related issues. The forum will be held regularly and will incorporate peer-to-peer exchange and training components. It will encourage open dialogue on the issues are shared by the court managers from all the regions of the country.
