Georgian Judiciary Officials with Working Visit to Slovenia

Georgian delegation presented b the chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia and HCoJ Nino Gvenetadze, members of the High Council of Justice, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Parliament of Georgia, within the EU4Justice judicial support project, held a 3-day visit to Slovenia to discuss issues of judicial reforms.
The delegation met with the chair of the Judicial Committee of Slovenian Parliament, the President and Vice President of the Judicial Council, Deputy Justice Minister, President of the Disciplinary Court, former Chair of the Bar Association of Slovenia and EU international experts.
The Delegation members got familiar with the judicial system of Slovenia and judicial reforms in the light of EU integration, as well as the Law on Judicial Council, functions of the Council, activity of the Integrity Commission and Code of Conduct for the Judges.
The parties discussed strategic challenges for Slovenia, promotion and disciplinary responsibility of the judges under the legislation, administration of training for judges, disciplinary proceedings and cooperation of the Parliament with the Ministry of Justice.
The aim of the visit was supporting HCJ in enforcement of the Judicial Strategy and Action Plan and sharing experience of new EU member states within the process of EU approximation and harmonization.
