The Joint Meeting of the Committee for the Strategy and Action Plan of Judiciary was held

On December 28 of 2016 the joint meeting of the working groups within the committee for Strategy and Action Plan of Judiciary was held.

The participants were welcomed by the Chairperson of the Supreme Court and the High Council of Justice, Ms. Nino Gvenetadze.

The aim of the meeting was to present an outline of the strategic document “Key Strategic Issues of Judiciary” to the JSC members and to discuss further steps. The strategic document was drafted by the four JSC working groups – Independence; Accountability; Quality and Efficiency; and Access to Justice, Transparency and Public Trust – and the chairpersons and representatives of the working groups presented the drafts developed by each group. About forty members of the Judicial Strategic Committee attended the meeting, along with representatives of international organizations.

The meeting was facilitated by Synergy Group, which has been assisting the JSC in the development of its Strategy and Action Plan with the joint support of EWMI/PROLoG, GIZ and EU4Justice.
