Nino Gvenetadze delivered the public lecture in the Caucasus International University

Challenges facing law system of general jurisdiction, problems of the legal proceedings, independence of judges and the degree of trust towards the court – these are the topics that were discussed by Nino Gvenetadze, a chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia and High Council of Justice of Georgia at the meeting organized by Caucasus International University.
The second part of the meeting was held in the form of question-responses. The students’ questions referred to the benefits of appointing judges permanently, jury institution, access to justice, perspectives for establishing law case as a source of justice, plea bargaining function, law concerning questioning of witnesses and steps taken towards restoration of justice.
The event was attended by Caucasus International University students together with the university academic staff and the representatives of administration.
Nino Gvenetadze gave course books and recent editions of the Supreme Court of Georgia to the university towards the end of the meeting. The chairperson of the High Council of Justice received presents from the university chancellor. Among them was a cycle of the documentary films “Life of Qartli together with Mariam Lortkipanidze” prepared by the Multimedia Centre.
