According to 2016 Rule of Law Index, Georgia Still Holds First Position in the

According to the Rule of Law index of the World Justice Project (WJP), in 2016, Georgia still maintains a leading position with 0.65 in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia region.
 
Among 13 countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Georgia holds the first position according to the following factors: Absence of Corruption, Open Government, Constraints on Government Powers, Fundamental Rights, Regulatory Enforcement, and Criminal Justice.
 
It should be noted that Georgia’s leading position in the 2016 Rule of Law Index is important considering the fact that the 2016 edition expands coverage to 113 countries (from 102 in 2015). Accordingly, this year, Georgia holds 34th position among the worlds 113 countries, while holding 29th place among 102 countries in 2015.
 
According to the Rule of Law Index, Georgia is ahead of EU member states such as Italy (35th place), Croatia (39th place), Greece (41th place), Hungary (49th place).
 
Study of the World Justice Project (WJP) reflects the state of the rule of law in the worlds 113 countries. The project uses 44 indicators, which are grouped around 8 factors: Absence of Corruption, Open Government, Constraints on Government Powers, Fundamental Rights, Order and Security, Regulatory Enforcement, Criminal Justice, and Civil Justice.
 
The WJP Rule of Law Index is the most comprehensive index of its kind and the only to rely solely on primary data. The Index’s scores are built from the assessments of local residents (1,000 respondents per country) and local legal experts.
 
According to the 2016 Rule of Law Index, Denmark tops the world ranking (first place), and Norway and Finland hold 2nd and 3rd places.
