Training on the Topic: Indirect Evidence and other ECHR standards foreseen under article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights

On 18-19 June of 2016 in Tbilisi within the frames of the Ejoint programme between the European Union and the Council of Europe (PCF) two- day training session was held on the topic on -Indirect Evidence and other ECHR standards foreseen under article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights”.
Consultant of the Council of Europe Jeremy McBride conducted the two day training session together with the Expert of Human Rights Law - Nana Mchedlidze. Within the frames of the meeting the participants discussed based on the examples of the hypothetic cases the following issues concerning the 6th Article of the European Convention of Human Rights such as: General approach the evidence; The standard and burdern of proof; The right to cross-examination in general; Disclosure of evidence; Incitement to offend; Legal representation; Presumption of innocence; Self-incrimination and plea bargaining.
Practising lawyers and other representatives of the Court and Prosecutor’s Office also participed in the training.
