On March 8, 2016 at the Supreme Court judges of the chamber of the civil cases of the Supreme Court held a working meeting with Tbilisi city and appellate court judges and also with some East Georgia District Court Judges of civil cases. The meeting was leaded by the Chairperson of the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court, Mrs. Mzia Todua.
The meeting aimed at discussing and analyzing of problems of court practice in the field of private law. Participants in active dialog mode heard the reports on the following issues: using of provisional measures in court practice; preconditions of claim admissibility; admissibility of confession claims and use of labor norms in judicial practice; coming out from the urgency of the issue, at the meeting, the ideas on the specifics of the disputes related to the child’s best interest were presented together with the overview of the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, including the recent decisions of the two cases against Georgia.
The sum up discussion of the reviewed topics was carried out at the end of the meeting. The judges evaluated the meeting positively and expressed hope that such meetings will be planned on a regular basis.
