At the Supreme Court the round table on "Prohibition of Discrimination" was held with participation of the Council of Europe expert Ivana Javor

On February 27, 2016 at the Supreme Court of Georgia, within the European Union and Council of Europe joint project: “Application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Georgia and harmonization of national legislation and judicial practice in line with European Standards”, the round table meeting was held with participation of the Council of Europe experts Ivana Javor. The Common Courts judges, Head of the Department for State Representation in International Courts, Ministry of Justice of Georgia Levan Meskhoradze, Human Rights Expert Nana Mchedlidze, and staff of the Analytical Department of the Human Rights Center of the Supreme Court of Georgia attended the meeting.
The meeting aimed to discuss the deficiencies revealed to the national legislation and in the common courts practice with respect to discrimination and to adopt appropriate recommendations. Namely, invited expert reviewed the non-discrimination standards of the European Court and the European practice of discrimination.The participants within the mentioned topic discussed the compliance of Article 14 of the Constitution and of law of Georgia on "Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination" with European standards.
