Nino Gvenetadze met with the Director of the Head Office of “American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative” (ABA ROLI), Elizabeth Andersen

On February 25, 2016 at the Supreme Court courtesy meeting was held with the Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia and High Council of Justice Ms. Nino Gvenetadze and the international expert, director of the head office of American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) Elizabeth Andersen. The meeting was also attended by the regional Deputy Director, Mr. Mamuka Mamatsashvili.

In the framework of introductory meeting the Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia and High Council of Justice talked with foreign guest about the challenges, visions and priorities existing in the judiciary. Ms. Nino Gvenetadze also discussed the projects, which are being implemented by assistance of international donor organizations in order to improve the quality of the legal proceedings.

The international expert, Ms. Elizabeth Andersen thanked the Chairperson of the Supreme Court and the High Council of Justice for reception and expressed readiness for mutual cooperation in legal projects.   

"The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative" (ABA ROLI) implements legal reform programs in almost 50 countries.  In Georgia the rule of law program was launched in 1996 and the criminal justice reform program - in 1999. Current programs of "the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative" (ABA ROLI) in Georgia are: Criminal justice reform and the human trafficking and the reform of legal profession.
