The Chairperson of the Supreme Court of Georgia Nino Gvenetaze is taking part to the conference on: “Torture related problems and prevention mechanisms, international practice and experience”.

On December 19 of current year in Borjomi, hotel "Rixos" the International Conference on the topic: “The problems related to the torture qualification and prevention mechanisms, international practice and experience” was opened. Nino Gvenetadze is taking part to the motioned conference.
The Chairperson of the Supreme Court and the High Council of Justice, Chairperson of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee Eka Beselia addressed to the conference participants with welcoming speeches and after the discussion was opened.
The director of Freiburg Max Planck Institute of Foreign and International Criminal Law Institute, international expert Hans-Jorg Albrecht presented the report on: "The comparative analysis of Georgian legislation with the best practices of the European countries on the issues to fight against torture and ill-treatment.” The reports also will be delivered by the judge of the Constitutional Court Merab Turava, Parliamentary Secretary Shalva Tadumadze, Deputy Minister of Justice Sandro Baramidze.
The conference participants will discuss the draft amendments and additions of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The conference will complete tomorrow on December 20, 2015.
